In the 19th episode of AI in Recruitment, Ivan Stojanovic, a prominent figure in recruitment technology, joined Martijn Hemminga. Stojanovic predicts that there won’t be a single recruiter who isn’t using AI for recruitment. “Because they won’t be in recruitment anymore if they don’t.”
‘AI doesn’t get tired’
Stojanovic, who develops AI recruitment solutions through his company Taladria, explains how artificial intelligence is already revolutionising the hiring process. His company’s AI system can process thousands of CVs in seconds, performing analyses that would be impossible for human recruiters.
“By Friday afternoon, your quality is going to drop significantly. AI doesn’t get tired, doesn’t forget the first candidate when it’s scoring the last one.”
“If you review more than 200 CVs in a row, the quality of your manual reviewing drops drastically,” Stojanovic explains. “By Friday afternoon, your quality is going to drop significantly. AI doesn’t get tired, doesn’t forget the first candidate when it’s scoring the last one.”
‘AI Agents will handle much of the work’
The technology has shown remarkable accuracy in candidate selection. In testing with clients, Stojanovic’s team found that among the top ten AI-selected candidates, “five or six people typically got to the final stage” of the recruitment process – suggesting the AI was identifying the most suitable candidates more efficiently than traditional methods.
“Will you need a team of five talent acquisition specialists and a talent acquisition manager and a VP of talent? No, because AI agents will handle much of that work.”
However, Stojanovic emphasises that the goal isn’t to replace human recruiters entirely. “You’re legally not permitted to have recruitment without humans”, he notes. Instead, the technology aims to eliminate repetitive tasks and enhance recruiter effectiveness. “Will you need a team of five talent acquisition specialists and a talent acquisition manager and a VP of talent? No, because AI agents will handle much of that work.”
Significant impact on agencies
The impact on recruitment agencies could be significant. Stojanovic estimates that current AI solutions can reduce workforce requirements by approximately 20%. “If you think of cost saving, we charge something like 5% of your payroll costs, but deliver significant efficiency gains.”
Working with tech giants Microsoft and Google, Stojanovic’s company is developing increasingly sophisticated solutions. “When we started building this, Microsoft heard about it and invited us into their Founders program. Then Google approached us offering resources.”
Accelerated adoption lies ahead
Looking ahead to 2025, Stojanovic predicts rapid acceleration in AI adoption across the recruitment industry. “The technology that recruiters need for the majority of their tasks existed six months ago – it just took time to build the framework and tools to use it effectively at scale.”
